Who is responsible for stairwell cleaning in a Berlin apartment building?
What matters is the wording of the tenancy agreement. In most larger Berlin apartment buildings the property manager hires a contractor and bills the cleaning through the service charges. Tenants only have to clean themselves if the agreement expressly assigns the task to them. If in doubt, check the house rules or ask the manager.
