Electrical work in Berlin
Stucco ceilings, box windows and wiring designed for a handful of lamps: that is the starting point in many Berlin flats. Our Berlin team brings installations up to date without sacrificing the character of the rooms.

What matters in Berlin
In Berlin period buildings from Charlottenburg to Neukölln, cables often run in old conduits under plaster or across tall walls, and stucco and timber joist ceilings limit the routes. Meters frequently sit in the stairwell or cellar, and many households share the rising mains. The eastern boroughs have prefabricated blocks, some still with aluminium wiring that needs special care at terminals. Commercial courtyards in Kreuzberg and office floors in Mitte are constantly re-partitioned and need adapted circuits, lighting and network points each time. In the surrounding area, detached houses with smart home wishes complete the picture.
For Berlin and Brandenburg, our regional electrical team is in charge, scheduled from the head office in Essen. During a site visit we look at the distribution board, rising main and cable routes and discuss which walls and ceilings should be spared. From survey to handover you keep the same contact person, who also involves the property manager, tenants and grid operator. If several of our divisions work in your flat, all dates run through that one person. The quote is free of charge and commits you to nothing.

Typical jobs in Berlin
Cable routes that respect stucco
We use existing conduits, skirting boards and voids under floorboards where permitted, and keep chases small so that stucco mouldings and old plaster in your rooms stay intact.
Aluminium in prefabricated blocks
Old aluminium conductors break easily and work loose at terminals. We assess their condition, use suitable connectors or replace circuits completely if a renovation is planned anyway.
Flexible space for offices
In Mitte and Kreuzberg floor plans change with every tenant. We plan sub-distribution, floor boxes and data outlets so that later moves within the floor cause little effort.
Coordinated with managers and tenants
When rising mains or meter positions are affected, we inform the property manager early, post switch-off times in the building and keep the interruption as short as possible.

FAQ
Frequent questions from Berlin
Your question is not listed? Call us or send us a message – we answer personally.
Does the aluminium wiring in my Berlin flat have to be replaced completely?
Not necessarily. What counts is the condition of the conductors and above all the terminals, where the typical problems arise. During an inspection we measure the circuits and look at sockets and the board. If a renovation is due anyway, we usually recommend copper instead, because walls and ceilings are open in any case.
As a tenant in Berlin, may I commission electrical work?
Having lights connected or a faulty socket replaced is generally no problem. Changes to the fixed installation, such as new circuits or an altered distribution board, need the consent of the landlord. We describe the project in writing so that you can submit it to the property manager for approval.
How long will I be without power during a period flat rewire?
That depends on the scope but can be managed well. We work room by room and provide temporary circuits for fridge, router and light while the new board is built. Power is switched off completely only for individual, announced steps such as the meter swap. We agree the sequence with you beforehand.
